I’ve often thought the 1994 sci-fi action-thriller Timecop was a good idea given a mediocre treatment. Obviously Universal Pictures feels the same, as THR reports that the studio is seeking writers to craft a completely re-imagined movie based on the film’s concept.
Jean-Claude Van Damme starred in the original as a security company agent who regulates time travel. He tangles with a corrupt politician (Ron Silver) with ties to his past. As you might have expected, Jean-Claude Van Damme will not be a part of this new project.
Timecop is based on the Dark Horse Comics series created by Mike Richardson and Mark Verheiden. The 1994 movie also spawned a short-lived Timecop TV series in 1997 and a 2003 straight-to-DVD sequel Timecop 2: The Berlin Decision. There’s no news on when the new film might shoot.
Why not use his double he’s had for years, Todd Senofonte…look him up.
Why not use Van Damme’s double Todd Senofonte for the role, look him up
The more I think about it, they shouldn’t remake it…
