Lorenzo Vigas’ had huge success at last year’s Venice Film Festival, picking up the Golden Lion for its tale of a man who uses money to try to get company, but ends up discovering a complicated relationship to the the power and inequality that money brings with it. That’s just in terms of sex, but also politically in the South American country where they live.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Armando, a 50 year man, seeks young men in Caracas and pays them just for company. One day he meets Elder, a 17 years boy that is the leader of a criminal gang, and that meeting changes their lives forever.’
Armando likes to pay young men to strip while he masturbates – he likes to look but not touch. However, his relationship with Elder gets increasingly complex, and sometimes violent, as both men deal with differing daddy problems. Take a look at the trailer below (and thanks to Out for the tip).
